About Us
The Franklin County Municipal Court Dispute Resolution Department provides mediation services for the court and public.
Mediation is a way to resolve disputes outside of a courtroom with the help of a neutral mediator. The mediator helps parties talk about their dispute and come to an agreement. Mediation is private and the mediator can document an agreement in writing for the parties to resolve a case.
If you do not have a lawsuit pending, you can request pre-file mediation as a way to talk about the dispute with the other party before filing a lawsuit. You can find the request for a prefile mediation here: Pre-File Mediation Form(PDF, 1MB)
